When Gayle Adams was 16 years old, he walked into a shop class and fell in love.
With a printing press.
With the belching buzzing sound of it. With the inky, greasy smell of it. Gayle told himself there and then that he was going to be a printer for the rest of his life. And that’s just how he sees himself today.
We might see him as the person who makes sure our work hums with perfection (or something awfully close to it). But in Gayle’s eyes, he’s the first guy on the press.
He’s constantly thinking about how our designs will translate through the machine—how each line and each color will come to life when the image hits the page.
Gayle may work at a computer, but it is ink that runs through his veins.
